SKRUBB Terms of Service

Welcome to SKRUBB ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SKRUBB website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

By creating an account or using SKRUBB, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before using our services.

1. About SKRUBB

SKRUBB connects people who need cleaning services ("Clients") with individuals or businesses who provide cleaning services ("Cleaners").

SKRUBB provides the Platform for matching, booking, and facilitating payments but does not directly provide cleaning services.

Cleaners are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or representatives of SKRUBB.

2. Eligibility

You must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have the legal authority to enter into binding contracts
  • Use the Platform in compliance with applicable laws

By using SKRUBB, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Account Registration

To use SKRUBB, you must create an account and provide accurate, up‑to‑date information.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

If you suspect unauthorized access, notify us immediately at [Insert support email].

4. Services and Bookings

  • Clients can request cleaning services by specifying date, time, location, and other preferences.
  • Cleaners may accept or decline booking requests based on their availability.
  • Once confirmed, both parties will receive booking details through the Platform.

SKRUBB is not a party to the cleaning agreement between Client and Cleaner. Any service‑related issues should be resolved directly between them, though SKRUBB may assist in facilitating communication or resolution at its discretion.

5. Payments

  • Payments are processed securely through third‑party payment providers (e.g., Stripe).
  • Clients authorize SKRUBB and its payment processor to charge their selected payment method for booked services, applicable taxes, and fees.
  • Cleaners receive payouts after completion of the service, subject to applicable deductions or fees.
  • SKRUBB may withhold or delay payments in cases of suspected fraud, disputes, or violations of these Terms.

All pricing, fees, and payouts are displayed within the Platform prior to confirmation.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation and refund policies are defined within the Platform and may vary by booking type and timing.

  • Clients may be charged a cancellation fee if a confirmed booking is canceled close to the scheduled time.
  • Cleaners may face account penalties for repeated last‑minute cancellations.
  • SKRUBB reserves the right to issue refunds or credits at its sole discretion.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use SKRUBB for unlawful, misleading, or fraudulent purposes
  • Post or transmit false, abusive, or offensive content
  • Interfere with the operation of the Platform
  • Circumvent SKRUBB's payment system or engage in off‑platform transactions
  • Violate any applicable local, provincial, state, or federal law

SKRUBB may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or misuse of the Platform.

8. Cleaner Obligations

Cleaners agree to:

  • Maintain any required business licenses or insurance
  • Provide services safely, professionally, and in accordance with the Client's reasonable expectations
  • Comply with all applicable health, safety, and labor regulations
  • Submit to background checks through SKRUBB's third‑party provider when required

SKRUBB does not guarantee any specific volume of bookings or income for Cleaners.

9. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute between a Client and a Cleaner, SKRUBB may, but is not obligated to, assist with mediation.

SKRUBB is not responsible for the quality of services performed, damages to property, or personal injury arising from use of the Platform.

If you have a dispute with SKRUBB itself, please contact us first at hello@skrubbapp.com so we can try to resolve it informally.

10. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, and Platform content (except user‑generated content) are the property of SKRUBB.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or exploit any part of the Platform without prior written consent.

11. Disclaimers

  • The Platform and services are provided "as is" and "as available."
  • SKRUBB makes no guarantees regarding availability, reliability, or accuracy of the Platform or services.
  • SKRUBB does not endorse or guarantee any particular Cleaner, Client, or service outcome.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, SKRUBB disclaims all warranties, express or implied.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SKRUBB and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, resulting from your use (or inability to use) the Platform or services.

In no event shall SKRUBB's total liability exceed the greater of:

  • (a) the total fees you paid to SKRUBB in the 6 months preceding the claim, or
  • (b) $100 CAD (or USD equivalent).

13. Termination

You may deactivate your account at any time.

SKRUBB may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the Platform, or engage in conduct that could harm SKRUBB or other users.

Termination does not affect any outstanding payment obligations or limitations of liability that, by their nature, should survive termination.

14. Privacy

Your use of SKRUBB is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on our Platform with a new "Last Updated" date.

By continuing to use SKRUBB after changes are posted, you agree to the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.

If operating in the U.S., local laws may also apply to users residing in that jurisdiction.
